This is going to be an interesting place to shoot. In Hilo, my long view was to the E/NE, so the rising sun was usually in there somewhere (unless it was raining). But here, my long view is almost directly south. I focused on the ridgeline -- and found trees, as expected, but also an antenna tower.  Many years ago I had a 1000 mm lens. It would be fun to have it back again. I do have a lens doubler but haven't used it with the 500 yet. There's plenty of time.
